Text description provided by the architects. Stretch 1 - H16

The Cannes - Mandelieu airport is one of the strong points of attraction of the Côte d'Azur. Improving the range of services for business aviation, both in terms of the crew and the performance and maintenance of aircraft, is essential to support the development of air traffic in the platform of Nice Côte d'Azur. The first phase of development corresponds to the north wing of the Cannes - Mandelieu airport, it must be representative of the level of excellence of this project.

An efficient building.

The warehouses should respond and adapt to the user's needs. These are tools for aircraft services, staff and business people. To this end, we grouped the offices and designed the structure in order to allow the entire volume be free of obstacles. This will provide complete freedom of maneuver for aircraft and maintenance.

Axonometric

An elegant structure.

We have designed the structure in wood. The resulting mesh is homogeneously covered by a translucent skin. The composition of the facades creates a vibration, the hangar volumes are broken down into a multitude of objects in the image of the leaves of the trees that make up San Cassian hill or the sun reflecting off the sea. In this way, the project is rooted in the landscape of the lower valley of the Siagne.

During the day, filtered light gives the interior a Mediterranean flair, screened, while the sunlight flashes on the envelope. At night, the lights connected with the activity in the national hangars become evanescent volumes drawn in the shade structure.
