Victoria One / Elenberg Fraser Architecture

Elenberg Fraser Architects have revealed designs for what is slated to be Melbourne's tallest residential tower. The project seeks to reinvent the natural landscape of Australia's Victoria state in an urban setting, through an optically transformative facade and botanical aesthetic.

Located at 452 Elizabeth Street, sixty percent of the unbuilt Victoria One project has been sold to local buyers already. "This demand highlights the changes in the way Melbournians are approaching living, with more and more locals opting for amenity and location over the traditional quarter acre house and land package," managing director at Golden Age Group, Jeff Xu, said. Victoria One aims to keep pace with these changing attitudes towards urban living by blurring the lines between indoors and out, and privacy and communal space.

The tower, 241 meters tall, with 75 levels, includes a 10 level podium that contains fixed and overflowing planters, softening the building’s relationship with the street. Cascading silver metallic fins line the exterior facade, creating the illusion of fluid movement.

With about 629 residential units, each featuring floor to ceiling windows, winter gardens, and customizable lighting, wallpaper, hardware, and bathroom mirror framing, Victoria One exudes a sleek and high-end character. Luxury interior finishing and three floors of exclusive communal facilities, including a pool, spa, gym, multiple lounges, and a club, ensure a high standard of living.
